Brake pedal braking force booster for motor vehicle servo brakes

The control valve of the brake servo is linked to the brake pedal by the telescopic linkage in which the two sections (10,11) are held together by an integral spring (12). This spring provides a safety support to prevent the brake pedal moving if eg. the driver traps his foot under the pedal while the brake servo is operated via the solenoid control. The integral spring is under compression to hold the two linkage sections at a fixed setting. Alternately the two sections are pulled together by a tensile spring. A simple spring fitting is obtained by using a spiral spring.
