Rear-view internal mirror for motor vehicle

The rear view mirror is mounted on the inside of the vehicle windscreen and has a sensor system in the mounting foot, facing the glass. The sensor monitors the coverage of the windscreen and a control circuit activates the windscreen wipers as and when required. The mirror can also be fitted with a sensor for light from the rear, to operate an anti-dazzle control. The control circuits are incorporated into the mirror support and the supply to the circuits is fed to the mounting by leads (6) over the surface of the windscreen. The control circuits and power feeds are in a part of the windscreen not normally viewed by the driver.
