Monoclonal antibodies to epithelial mucin

摘要

Prodn. of monoclonal antibodies to epithelial mucin (MUC1) comprises: (a) immunising animals (esp. mice) with native MUC1; (b) isolating lymphocytes from the animals, immortalising the lymphocytes (e.g. by fusion with myeloma cells); (c) selecting immortalised cell lines; (d) testing the cell lines for prodn. of anti-MUC1 antibodies; (e) cloning cells from cell lines that produce anti-MUC1 antibodies; (f) propagating the cloned cells; (g) isolating antibodies produced by the cloned cells, and (h) determining the specificity of the antibodies. Also claimed are antibodies and hybrid cell lines produced as described above.
