FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves securing wood block in retainer and clamping wood block ends; effectuating successive impregnation dyeing of block at its both ends. Retainer used in the process is provided with one or two conical heads. When single-head retainer is used, successive feeding of dye is provided by turning wood block, when double-head retainer is used, repeated supply of dye is effectuated upon termination of dye feeding at first end. Clamping of wood block ends is facilitated by conical pneumatic members, to which pressure of 4-5 atm is supplied. Dye is prepared in two stages. At the first stage, concentrate is obtained by heating water in container to temperature of at least 95 C. Dye is taken on the basis of 2.5-5 g/l of water. At the second stage, concentrate is pumped into working vessel with water heated to 60-70 C to obtain ready dye. Upon termination of dyeing process, block is sawn in accordance with predetermined configuration to produce parts for finishing layer or veneer sheets.
