The electrical connector has a housing formed by a lower part 14 and an upper part 12 and between the two is a cable 16 and a contact element that is of metal and has spring contact fingers 18 that can receive a connecting pin. The upper housing part is formed with shaped latching fingers 24 that latch into holes in the base. Once inserted the assembly is secured by a U formed locking clip 30 that is pushed into access points to fully secure the unit.
