PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide character string retrieval processing which is easy for a user to use as to the information processor which edits a document consisting of a plurality of character string editing areas. SOLUTION: When a retrieval character string is inputted from an input part 2, a character position information calculation part 7 calculates the retrieval start position of each character string editing area and stores it in a memory 8. A character string retrieval part 6 compares the retrieval start position stored in the memory 8 and specifies a character string editing area to be retrieved according to a retrieval direction, and then reads in the character string from the retrieval start position of the character string editing area out of a document data storage part 4 and compares it with the retrieval character string to decide whether or not they match each other. |
