A remote control unit (1) is shown with keyboard (8). The source (2) of IR radiation sends waves to the receiver (3) mounted on the coachwork. The radiation is then demodulated by the demodulator (14) and passed to the multiplexer (15) which selects a control channel, according to the signals demodulated, for controlling some function by the setting mechanisms (7). After the demodulator, the signals obtained are digitalised by the A/D converter (4) and passed to the central control unit (5) in the form of a computer that prepares the signals for the interface (6) and each of the setting mechanisms. The remote control unit fits into a box (11) with contacts so that its battery can be re-charged.
