The system prevents supply of electrical energy to the ignition circuit so that the vehicle cannot be started until the driving motor (34) of a steering-column or gearbox output shaft blocking device attains the unlocked position. Wired and protected logic connects the terminals (A1,A2) of the motor to the battery terminals (+BAT,-BAT) via a pair of switches (42,46). A key switch (14) detects simulation of insertion of a key into the antitheft switch (12). A multi-position control switch (16) sequentially supplies the circuits of the vehicle and its starter (+DEM) from a set of arcuate fixed contacts (78,80,84). The locked or unlocked state of the antitheft system is detected (62) by further switches (106,108). |
