Pile warp control system for producing terry fabric on looms

A control system determines piled warp tension and formation of increments of piled warp thread during terry cloth mfr. on looms with an increment-controlled piled warp beam which continuously delivers the warp with correct tension over deflection roller(s) and a jockey roller. A warp increment is formed before each weft group thrust via a waving reed and before the accompanying controlled displacement of the weave thrust edge towards the reed thrust position. The deflection roller (5), connected to a controlled motorised drive, has a surface which exerts a friction force on the piled warp (4) which winds round it. The jockey roller (8) is firmly fixed at its open ends with a rotating shaft (14) eccentrically located w.r.t. the roller axis and free to rotate in a support element (9) which rotates about a bearing (12) a distance from the shaft and held by a bearing block attached to the machine. Spring-loaded (46) turning lever(s) (48) are firmly fixed to the ends of the jockey roller where the spring is linked at one end with a lever connector piece (50) and at the other to an adjustable tensioning bolt (59) on the support. Each support is displaced by connection to a known terry drive (17) via a coupling rod (16) and controlled activator(s) (52), anchored to the machine, causes the turning lever to oscillate.
