PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the speaker with excellent sound quality in which torsional resonance is hardly caused regardless of its narrow width and a flat frequency characteristic is obtained. SOLUTION: A plane view of a diaphragm 1 is asymmetric having a major diametrical direction and a minor diametrical direction and has a swell toward the vibrating direction. The plane view of a voice coil bobbin 4 is the same as the plane view of the diaphragm and its upper end is welded to an outer circumferential part of the diaphragm 1. A magnetic circuit 6 is shaped in matching with a shape of the voice coil bobbin 4 and is made up of a yoke 8, a magnet 9 and a plate 10. A viscoelastic member 11 is fixed in the vicinity of the end of the diaphragm 1 in the major diametrical direction. A peak of the torsional vibration is decreased by the damping effect of the viscoelastic member and the resonance amplitude is reduced. Thus, notch and peak of the sound pressure characteristic are reduced.
