PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a panty stocking smooth in surface skin touch and excellent in feeling when worn by providing covering yarns throughout the leg part and specifying the surface roughness of knit of the leg part. SOLUTION: The objective panty stocking is so designed that covering yarns each made by doubly winding nylon filaments around polyurethane elastic yarn as core yarn are provided at least throughout the leg part; and the surface roughness (SMD value) of knit of the leg part is set at <=1.5μm, thus effecting smooth skin touch and good feeling when worn. The polyurethane elastic yarns and nylon filaments are 20-10 denier and 12-3 denier in total fineness, respectively, and it is recommended that the nylon filaments be wound in such number of twists as to be 7000/D<1/2> to 10000/D<1/2> in number of original twists and in number of final twists of 0.7-0.9 times the number of original twists while extending the polyurethane elastic yarns at a draft ratio of 2.5-3.5 (D is the total denier of the nylon filaments).
