PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monoalkenylbenzene in the short induction period of a catalyst and capable of obtaining the objective material in a further excellent selectivity and yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing a monoalkenylbenzene by reacting a 7-10C alkylbenzene and a 4-6C conjugated diene, uses a catalyst obtained by loading at least one kind selected from sodium, potassium, sodium amide and potassium amide on a carrier constituted by at least a compound expressed by the formula K2 O.xAl2 O3 (0.5<=x<=11), then leaving as it is or contacting with hydrogen, and further contacting with at least one kind of compound selected from water, an alcohol and phenols. |
