PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of stably obtaining an image having excellent quality without causing any deterioration and irregularities of the image due to the wearing damage of an electrophotographic photoreceptor in a process for repeatedly forming the image. SOLUTION: In this image forming method for forming the images for a large number of sheets by repeating each process of electrification, image exposure, development, transfer separation and cleaning on the electrophotographic photoreceptor 10, the photoreceptor 10 is provided with a photoreceptive layer constituted in such a manner that plural charge transfer layers are laminated on a charge generating layer, the charge transfer layer being the uppermost layer of the photoreceptive layer contains inorganic grains whose Mohs hardness is >=5 and the ten-point average surface roughness Rz of the photoreceptor 10 is regulated to 0.1-1.0μm. Further, the electrification in an electrifying process is executed by an electrifier 11 using a discharge wire constituted in such a manner that a core material is covered with gold, silver, platinum, nickel, carbon or glass.
