PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a device for reading both sides, and to omit or decrease such frequency processing as blur mask processing so as to rapidly obtain a final image signal. SOLUTION: When analog image signals SA and SB obtained from the surface and the back surface of a stimulable phosphor sheet are A/D converted by A/D converters 17a and 17b, a sampling clock generated from a clock generating means 20 and inputted to the converter 17b is half of the sampling clock inputted to the converter 17a by a clock changing means 21. Thus, the number of a picture element of a digital image signal S2 obtained from the back surface of the sheet is half of that of a digital image signal S1 , so that a high-frequency component is removed. Consequently, the frequency processing is not required to be performed on the signal S2 and the cost of the converter 17b can be reduced. |
