PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the turbulence of an ion exchange zone of a strong electrolytic ion exchange resin layer at the time of regeneration by feeding floating water of flow rate larger than that of a regenerant before feeding the regenerant, pressing a filled layer to a shielding plate and keeping the floating. SOLUTION: A filled layer 13 of strong acidic cation exchange resin is formed as a lower layer on a bottom plate 12 at the lower end of a filling column 11, over which a shielding plate 15 is fitted through a clearance 14 and also a filled layer 16 of weak acidic cation ion resin is formed thereon as an upper layer. When the strong acidic cation exchange resin of the filled layer 13 is regenerated, floating water is fed at the flow rate larger than that of a regenerant by using a floating water feed means 25 and feeding the regenerant 26 from a regenerant feed means 24, and the filled layer 13 is floated up at a stretch without the turbulence of an ion exchange zone. Thus the turbulence of the ion exchange zone of the filled layer 13 of strong acidic cation exchange resin can be prevented to the maximum extent and also the lowering of purity of treated water after regeneration can be prevented to increase the amount of treated water. |
