PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a round synthetic resin wire uniform in diameter and free from strain in an extremely efficient manner. SOLUTION: A softened and melted thermoplastic synthetic resin is linearly extruded from the die la of a first extrusion molding machine 1 to be subjected to extrusion molding to be puenched in a first cold water tank 3 and this linear molded object 11 is passed through the T-die 2a of a second extrusion molding machine 2 to be cylindrically coated with the same resin and quenched in a second cold water tank 4 to produce a synthetic resin wire 10 characterized by that the cross-sectional outer contour shape of the coating layer 12 coating a core wire 11 is substantially round, uniform in diameter and free from strain.
