PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate set print process conditions of the print control unit when print information is transferred to the print control unit by storing processing capability information acquired from the print control unit. SOLUTION: It is decided whether or not profile data on a printer are in, for example, an extension memory 130 and when not, a test is conducted based on the test data from a host computer 100 to generate the profile data. When it is decided that there are the profile data, on the other hand, the profile data are loaded from the extension memory 130 and data to be printed which are received from the host computer and specification data of the profile data are compared by, for example, one page; it is decided whether or not all the specification data are compared and when so, it is decided whether or not all the profile data are compared. When it is decided that all the profile data are compared, the same print setting items as the profile data of matching specification data are set in the printer and the processing is completed. |
