The shortcut dial number grouping for a key-phone system and a method thereof are directed to increasing a use convenience when calling at the same location wherein there are provided different telephone numbers by grouping a plurality of short-cut dial numbers as one group shortcut dial number. This grouping is implemented by a first dialing step for transmitting one telephone number to a certain line, and a second dialing step for transmitting another telephone number related to the telephone number to the certain line when there is a certain button signal input for thereby overcoming a problem that a re-transmission is performed in the case of a busy tone by transmitting one telephone number.
