Solenoid-actuated 3/2 fluid power valve

The 3/2 valve has a cylindrical housing 52 that fits into a main block 90 and has connections 60,64,72 to inlet and outlet ports. At the centre of the cylinder is a movable valve element 70 that forms part of the electromagnetic actuator circuit. The element has an inset ball 75 that seals against a valve sleeve 66. The element is subjected to a closing force generated by a coil spring 78. The actuator coil 80 is wound around the body78. When energised, the valve element moves to open the ball valve at one end and close a second one 76 at the other end
