Ice-making apparatus comprises a multimould endless belt 20 having projections 54, a water-supply valve 48, a double-throw switch 56 arranged to be operated by projections 54 and a double-throw timed switch 64 arranged to control valve 48, the switches being interconnected in such a manner that whenever switch 56 energizes valve 48 via switch 64 the latter de-energizes the valve after a predetermined time. When switch 56 is engaged by a projection 54 it is moved to contact 57 which is connected by conductor 60 to contact 62 of switch 64, so that valve 48 and a timer motor 70 are energized through the latter switch. After a predetermined time motor 70 moves switch 64 to contact 74 to de-energize the valve and motor. Subsequently, projection 54 moves clear of switch 56 and the latter moves to contact 76 which is connected to contact 74 of switch 64 so that the motor and valve are again energized. Switch 64 is then moved to contact 62 after a predetermined time to de-energize the motor and valve and the above cycle is repeated when the next projection engages switch 56. Thus, each mould 22 of the belt is supplied with water during two timed periods.</p> |
