摘要 |
A radiant heat generator (1) for the calibration of infra-red detectors comprises an electrically conducting silicon carbide radiating plate formed as a flat rectangular surface (Fig.1) or having a zigzag construction (Fig.2). In both cases the surfaces (5,6) carry electrical contacts (3,4) to enable the plate (1) to be directly heated so that a source of IR radiation (2) results. An alternative indirectly heated assembly is also illustrated which incorporates a spirally wound coil placed behind the radiating surface which enables the use of non-conducting ceramics for high temperature applications.
