<p>The top of the coil spring is held compressed w.r.t. the telescopic damper by a special clamp bolted to the top of the damper rod and which hs three bracing arms to compress the spring. The spring and damper are positioned over the wheel, with the car lifted up, and secured on the wheel. The car is dropped onto the spring to relieve the clamps, which are then removed. The damper can then be fitted to the chassis after which the top plate of the damper support is fitted. The system provides a rapid fitting for the coil and damper, without any special spring compressors, using only the vehicle jack and spanners. The damper can be exchanged without removing the spring.</p> |
