The stub shaft (2) is driven into the hollow drive shaft (1) beyond the area in which the shaft teeth engage so that the minimum width to which shaft is inserted in shaft matches the length of the projecting part of shaft in its operating position. The shaft is connected to an adjuster which is housed within shaft and consists of an adjusting spindle (4). Each shaft bearing seat round half the periphery of the bearing eyelet is fitted to a segment (7) which is releasably secured to the respective side plate (6). The bearing seat is divided exactly halfway round the eyelet so the common dividing plane necessarily contains the exact axial centre line of the bearing seat. Thus the segments of the side plates as released by dividing the seat as specified are mounted in the corresponding positions of the as yet undivided drive frame (5). When the side plates are divided, the released segments are placed in their position as for an undivided frame by means of guides (9) and joined up thus.
