Exhaust manifold for IC engine

The manifold has an outer and an inner shell (10,11), each with a tubular shoulder (17,20), which between them enclose a ring-shaped air gap. The shoulder of the inner shell is centred and guided in the shoulder of the outer shell, via projections (22) distributed over its circumference. The tubular shoulder of the outer shell has inward directed projections. It extends almost to the free end of the bore in the connecting flange (12), and is welded to it. The outer shell is formed from two parts (13,14), which are welded together (16) near the shoulder.
