The invention refers to a fastening device for an adjustable steering shaft in motor vehicles in which a tubular box (1) adjustable in the direction of its longitudinal axle can be fixed between two supports (2) fastened to the automobile body by a fastening mechanism having a fastening bolt (4) which penetrates both of said supports (2) transversally to the tubular box (1) longitudinal axle and which can be actuated by a crank (9). A blocking member (10) is also mounted, which on one side is supported on an axially fastened countersupport to the fastening bolt (4) and having on the other hand a sharp edge (12) which is obliquely directed downwards in the direction of a component fixedly connected to the tubular box, thereby forming an angle relative to the fastening bolt (4) longitudinal axle.
