1,133,504. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems; pure fluid amplifiers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 31, 1966 [April 30, 1965], No.14232/66. Headings G3H and G3P. A bridge type fluid amplifier comprises four fluid passages 10, 11, 12, 13 connected at junctures 14, 15, 16, 17. A fluid supply is connected to juncture 14, juncture 15 is connected to exhaust and the opposite ends of a piston-cylinder load device 30 is connected to junctures 16, 17. Restrictions 18, 19 are arranged in the passages 10 and 11 while variable flow restrictions in the form of vortex amplifiers 20, 21 are arranged in the passages 12, 13. Control signals are fed from a logic device 31 to control the flow in the vortex chambers and thus the back pressure whereby differences in the control signals are amplified to move the load. The vortex chambers may be in the passages 10, 11 or in all four passages. The input signal may be in response to position, speed, load distribution, pressure, vehicle attitude or temperature while the actuator 30 may be a rotary actuator.
|
