A system for adjusting fusible links (52) in an IC (51), which applies a fusing current to the fusible links (52). The fusible links are acted on across a switching element (3). With the fusing of the fusible link, there is a sudden current pulse on the lines, which is identified by a differentiating element, and is used for switching off the switching element. An output (6) is connectable with a supply voltage (VCC) across a switching element (3). A second output (11) is provided, and a junction is arranged between the supply voltage and the fusible link. A differentiating element is provided between the junction and the second output (11), which produces a signal for switching off the switching element.
