Airbag propellant gas generator

The gas generator system, for the inflation of vehicle airbags in the event of an impact to restrain the occupants, has an additional catalyst (15) distributed evenly between the gas-generating propellants in the combustion chamber (5). The catalyst is an explosive or propellant material which is easily activated, as a fluid, granule or powder. The material is pref. B/PKNO3 with 0.2 - 0.3 g as the catalyst (15).
