The present invention relates to components of internal combustion engines and, more particularly, to an all ceramic cylinder head (10) or a fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite liner (11) for internal combustion engine. The present invention solves the problems of failure due to thermal shock, damage from minor impacts, erosion, engine weight, and the like. The all ceramic cylinder head (10) or a fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite liner (11) also includes a heat sink (12) on the top surface to keep touch temperatures at a reasonable level. The ceramic cylinder head or headliner is for an automobile which can be positioned under an automobile hood without damaging other vehicle systems from radiated heat. |
