The line valve has a valve body (10) in which a control mechanism for a flap (18) is mounted by holding arms (22,24). This mechanism has a central body (34) containing a cylindrical chamber (32) with control piston (30). The control piston can be fixed in one of two settings by a locking mechanism which has at least one cylinder device (66,68) which releases the locking ball (44,46) from its engagement with a ring (48) by acting on a cylindrical collar (50).
