<p>A system to prevent the formation of hydrates in pipeline 3 for transporting a multi-phase fluid which is susceptible to hydrate formation under certain physical conditions. A set of conditions under which hydrate formation occurs is stored in a memory 12, at least one physical parameter of the fluid eg temperature, pressure, composition is measured 7,8,9,10,11 and a physical parameter of the system eg pressure, temperature or concentration of inhibitors is controlled to maintain the system conditions outside the range where hydrate formation will occur.</p> |
