PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent alteration of check or the like, to prevent personal information from being leaked to the third person and to enable service with a general-purpose communication system by enabling the settlement of accounts by affixing an electronic signature by the drawer onto an electronic check, which contains the electronic signature of an issue person and a settled amount. SOLUTION: A credit card company issues the electronic check, to which the settled amount applied from a user and an issue number are given, while using an electronic check issue program 52 and transmits it to the user by an electronic mail system after the electronic signature is affixed onto it while using a PEM system 53. The user activates a PEM system 61, provides the state of enabling the settlement of accounts by affixing the electronic signature for approve onto this check and transmits it to the client together with a transaction application prepared by a transaction application preparation program 21. At the client, the electronic check is taken out of the received electronic mail, its contents are inspected by a PEM system 31, and the electronic check, for which it is judged that the settlement of accounts is enabled, is transmitted to the credit card company. At the credit card company, the settlement of accounts of this check is performed by an electronic check account settlement program 41. |
