PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the rotary drum device at low cost and capable of positioning adjustment of a tape regulating member. SOLUTION: A rotary drum 3 equipped with a magnetic head 4 and a fixed drum 2 having a lead 9 for guiding a magnetic tape 8 are mutually rotatably disposed via a center shaft 5. Information is recorded or reproduced on/from the magnetic tape 8 wound around the circumferential surfaces of the drums. The device has the tape regulating member 12 capable of being in contact with an edge part of the magnetic tape 8 at a winding starting point P of the magnetic tape 8. The tape regulating member 12 is provided to be positionally adjustable. The device is equipped with an adjuster mechanism 14 capable of fine movement of the tape regulating member 12 in the radial direction of the drums, and a protruding amt. of the tape regulating member 12 from the circumferential surfaces of the drums is adjusted to a proper range.
