<p>An energy saving lamp controller that includes a current sensor (20) together with a controlled circuit (23) producing a timer signal in response to increased current drawn by a lighting system (16, 17). The timer (23) responds to a control signal by producing a fixed duration operation signal which is a applied to a switching system (15) within the power coupling to the lamp array. A pair of alternative power coupling networks are utilized to alternatively operate lamps (16, 17) at either of two different voltages in response to the control circuit (23) and switching system (15). Audible (240) and visual (132) indicating alarms are utilized to alert the operator to the operating state of the system.</p> |
