PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic carrier capable of surely preventing spending. SOLUTION: A 1st electrophotographic carrier is obtd. using magnetic particles whose surface state represented by the rate of fusion of a resin by a forced resin fusing method has been regulated to 0.01-0.50% so as to reduce the percentage of recesses and protrusions liable to cause spending. A 2nd carrier is obtd. by forming resin coating on recesses and the peripheral parts of protrusions liable to cause spending in the surfaces of magnetic particles and a 3rd carrier is obtd. by combining the magnetic particles with resin coating.
