PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new receptor protein containing a specific amino acid sequence, originated from the gastropyloric smooth muscle of rabbit and useful e.g. as a reagent for the development of a receptor-bonding assay system, the screening of a medicine-candidate compound, etc. SOLUTION: This new G-protein conjugated receptor protein (salt) originated from the gastropyloric smooth muscle of rabbit contains an amino acid sequence essentially same as the amino acid sequence of the formula. The protein is present on the surface of the cells of living body and the functional cells of various organs, has affinity with G-protein, participates in the transmission of signal in the cell by the activation of G-protein and is useful as a reagent for the development of a receptor-bonding assay system, the screening of a medicine-candidate compound, etc. The receptor protein can be produced by amplifying and cloning a cDNA originated from the gastropyloric smooth muscle of rabbit by PCR method using a primer composed of a part of G-protein receptor protein gene, integrating the obtained DNA into a vector and expressing in a host cell. |
