CAMOUFLAGING METHOD FOR PREVENTING DETECTION BY ELECTROMAGNETIC MEANS, AND CAMOUFLAGE MATERIAL THEREFOR

A method is disclosed for camouflaging a vehicle to prevent detection thereof by electromagnetic means in optical wavelength bands, wherein a major part of at least the emissive surfaces of the vehicle is covered with a coating that comprises at least one material intrinsically having selective emittance. A camouflage material for use in the method, and a military stealth vehicle at least partially covered with a coating that comprises at least one material having selective emittance, are also disclosed. Varnishes, paints and camouflage tarpaulins may thus be provided.
