The coordinate input pad has a flat protective material that covers a foil sensor substrate 2 that is above a switching substrate 3. The foil substrate has X coordinate electrodes on one side and these are in the form of parallel strips. A similar pattern of Y coordinate electrodes are formed on the underside. Contact points and a ground strip are formed along opposite edges. Holes are provide for connections to the switching substrate 3 and this has an integrated circuit 15 to provide outputs.
