The invention belongs to electrical engineering and may be used in power engineering.The third harmonic generator is comprised of a power supply source, a transformer with windings, switches and load. The distinguishing feature of the engineering solution is that to the power supply source there are connected two single-phase bridge rectifiers. At the output of each of them there are connected three circuits containing a ballast resistor and a shunting switch connected in series with a charging switch and a capacitor (fig.1). In parallel with each capacitor is connected a discharge switch with a diode of reverse conduction, choke, and primary winding of the transformer. The primary windings of the transformer are opposite wound and shunted with overcharge diodes of reverse conduction.<IMAGE>
