<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously change a sounding pitch without controlling the blow and suction at the mouth by limiting air flow with an openable and closable cover. SOLUTION: The harmonica body 2 is provided with a cover 3 formed freely openably and closably by means of a hinge 10. The cover is held energized in an open direction by spring members 11. The inner side of the cover 3 is integrally provided with pitch varying members 21, by which respective wind chambers 7 are covered at the time of closing the cover 3. The pitch varying member 21 have air cells 23 respectively communicatable with the respective wind chambers 7 and air passage 32 communicating with these air cells 23 via small holes 29. The pitch varying members 21 comes into tight contact with the harmonic body 2 and close the air passages 23 when the cover 3 is closed. The inflow and outflow of air are, therefore, confined to only the air from the small holes 29 and are decreased, and the tones of the pitch lower than the ordinary pitch are produced.</p> |
