SURFACE ENGAGING TYPE ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector by which a battery pack can be installed in a side edge of a hand set by surface-engaging a mutual engaging contact point with an inner printed circuit board in the parallel direction in general. SOLUTION: This electric connector 28 is provided with an insulated housing 31 having an installation face 32 to be surface mounted on a printed circuit board 36. A conductive terminal 42 is installed in the housing 31 and the conductive terminal includes a board contact part 64 to be engaged with a circuit trace of the printed circuit board 36 and a spring contact part 30 to be engaged with a contact element 26 of a fitting connector. The board contact part 64 is fixed on the installation face 32 of the housing 31 and is engaged with a circuit trace in the vertical direction in general to the printed circuit board 36. The spring contact part 30 of the terminal 42 is projected out of a side part 50 of the housing 31 and engaged with the contact element 26 when the contact element 26 of the fitting connector is moved in the parallel direction in general to the printed circuit board 36.
