PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal transfer image receiver having light resistance, dark discoloring resistance, resistance to sebum of the same degree as those of the receiver having a conventional dye receiving layer and more than thermal transfer degree of them by molding the receiver by laminating a dye receiving layer containing naphthalene compound on a base material. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer image receiver 1 used for sublimable thermal transfer recording is formed by laminating a dye receiving layer 3 on a sheet-like or film-like base material 2. The layer 3 is formed by dispersing naphthalene compound in a dye dyeable resin to improve the transfer sensitivity, light resistance, sebaceous resistance and dark discoloring resistance of the receiver 1. Such naphthalene compound includes, for example, 1-n- dodecylnaphthalne, 1,4-dibutylnaphthalene, and 2-6-dibutylnaphthalene. The content of the naphthalene compound in the layer 3 is suitably 0.2 to 40wt.%, and more preferably 1 to 25wt.%. |
