The present invention is to provide a method for informing a communication disconnection state in a portable terminal. The method for informing a communication disconnection state in a portable terminal according to the present invention includes the steps of: determining whether a signal level received from a base station is less than a predetermined signal level when communication between the portable terminal and the base station is carried out by a network; selecting a neighboring base station for handover when the signal level received from the base station is less than the predetermined signal level; displaying an alarm signal on the portable terminal when the neighboring base station is not selected; determining whether a time slot available exists in the selected base station; displaying the alarm signal when the time slot available does not exist in the selected base station; and performing handover registration when the time slot available exists in the selected base station. Thereby, the present invention can alarm in advance the user when communication disconnection state is predicted. |
