1,122,697. Resiliently mounted seats. USTAV PRO VYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL. 6 Oct., 1966 [29 Oct., 1965], No. 44699/66. Heading A4U. In an air sprung vehicle seat, carried on a parallelogram linkage, an air chamber 4 of variable volume, closed by a flexible diaphragm 5, is surrounded by, and communicates through holes 6 with an annular chamber 3 of fixed volume. The chamber 3 is formed by peripherally seam welding two stamped out plates 1, 2, having a common dome constituting the seat pan and top of chamber 4. The central rigid part of diaphragm 5 is moved by coupling 8 and link 9, moving in unison with link 10, so that the air is compressed by lowering the seat. The seat is held level, while it oscillates vertically, by links 14<SP>1</SP> and 15 and is rotatably supported on cross shaft 12, by bearing sleeves (13 and 14), the latter carrying the link 14<SP>1</SP>. |
