PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device in which only the text information that is required by a user is read by synthesized voices by specifying keywords among various text information such as the text information received by a teletext FM radio and an electronic newspaper. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a buffer memory 24 which conducts a buffering for the character codes of the text information, a keywords.reading region storage section 22 which stores the beforehand specified keywords and the region to be read among the text information including the keywords, a reading region retrieval section 23 which retrieves the keywords employing the character codes that are being buffered and outputs the character codes corresponding to the reading region from the memory 24 if the keywords exist, a voice synthesizing section 26 which converts each outputted character code into synthesized voice signals and a speaker 14 which generates synthesized voices of the synthesized voice signals.
