PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp an outline of an untranslated document without translating the whole document. SOLUTION: The method and device are equipped with a classified word data base 3 which stores which of a plurality of predetermined fields each word used for a 1st language belongs to, a word classifying means 9 which classifies the field that each word included in a document described in a 1st language belongs by using the classified word data base 3, a field specifying means 10 which specifies a field into which many words are classified, a sentence extracting means 12 which extracts a sentence, including the word belonging to the field specified by the field specifying means 10 among words classified into the respective fields by the word classifying means 9, from the inputted document, and a partial translating means 13 which translates the sentence taken out by the sentence extracting means 12 into a 2nd language. |
