<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently heat exchange the ice in a thermal storage tank with warm return water and to improve cold heat supply characteristics to a thermal load by providing at least one return water discharge tube for discharging the return water from the upper part of the tank to the lower part of the tank. SOLUTION: Capillary tubes 12 are suspended as a plurality of return water discharge tubes opened at the lower ends, and the return water 9 from a thermal load 8 is supplied to the upper ends of the tubes 12. Thus, the warm return water 9 from the load 8 flows down through the tubes 12 to the lower part, and hence the ice 6 in contact with the outer surfaces of the tubes 12 is warmed and melted. In this manner, the same number of water tubes as the number of the tubes 12 are generated in the ice 6, and heat transfer surfaces corresponding thereto are appeared. As a result, the water 9 sprinkled from a sprinkling nozzle 10 onto the ice 6 flows into the many water tubes, and hence the water 9 is brought into contact with the ice 6 in a wide area, and the water 9 can be effectively cooled.</p> |
