PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of skid rider of a heat furnace by improving the performance of skid rider. SOLUTION: This heating furnace skid rider is composed of a structure having average grain sizes of <=60μm in the lower part of the rider and over 60μm in the upper part by continuously changing the average crystal grain size in the height direction of the skid rider by a sintered material formed by dispersing 0.05 to 0.5vol.% oxide in a base material Cr or a base material subjected the Cr sintered material to plasticizing treatmant. As a result, the skid rider has excellent creep deformation resistance, high-temp. corrosion resistance and impact resistance and, therefore, the service life is made longer than the life of the conventional products. In addition, the uniform supply of the radiation heat to the inside of the heating furnace to the object to be heated is possible and, therefore, skid marks are decreased and the quality of a hot rolled coil is improved.
