PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the ratio of interrupting the pictures of an originally displayed program and to quickly and surely select a desired program by arraying and displaying plural still pictures for respective categories and strolling for the respective categories. SOLUTION: A CPU 29 controls an MPEG video decoder 25, generates the OSD data of a data stream and displays them on a monitoring device. After monitor display, when fixed time elapses, a processing for strolling and amplifying the data stream for the respective categories is performed by a remote commander. Then, at the time of displaying the data stream, the CPU 29 displays the still pictures for which the representative screens of the programs broadcasted in respective broadcasting channels are reduced for the respective categories. Then, a cursor is displayed on the still picture of the prescribed category. A user moves the cursor by operating a button switch at the time of selecting the category. While the cursor is positioned on the still picture at a left end or a right end, when the cursor is moved to an outside further, the still picture is scrolled one by one to a left side or a right side. |
