PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of constituting a liquid crystal projector suppressing the occurrence of a leakage current due to a photoconductive effect in the vicinity of a MOS transistor part and realizing an image display with excellent quality. SOLUTION: MOS transistors respectively constituting pixels and having respectively source region 18 and drain region are arranged on a main surface of a semiconductor substrate 11, and reflection electrodes 241, 242,... electrically connected to respective transistors are formed on the MOS transistors through an inter-layer insulation film 23. The reflection electrodes 241, 242,... correspond to the pixels respectively, and are divided in pixel by gaps, and grooves 251, 252,... arriving at the inter-layer insulation film 23 are formed respectively corresponding to the gaps, and layers of light shielding insulation films 26, 27 are buried and formed in the inside of the grooves 251, 252,... and incident light passing through the gaps are interrupted. |
